he P.E.K.K.A is the strongest and final unit capable of being
produced by the Barracks. This unit rivals Dark Elixir units in strength
despite costing Elixir instead of Dark Elixir. Its long training time,
high cost, and level 10 Barracks requirement ensure that it is not used
regularly, though it does have uses in farming, trophy pushing, and
wars.
In this P.E.K.K.A unit guide, we will cover all aspects of this unit
(often called PEKKA amongst players who do not feel like typing out all
the periods), from the basic stats and upgrade levels to advanced
strategies for using this unit effectively.

The P.E.K.K.A has very high health and very high damage, but slow
movement and extremely slow attack speed. Its attack speed of 2.5
seconds ensures that the P.E.K.K.A stays put for a few seconds when it
reaches a structure or wall to attack. P.E.K.K.As kill most buildings
and structures in 2-3 hits (and some in 1 hit at higher levels) and can
burn through walls very quickly. A P.E.K.K.A under the effect of a Rage
spell will take out high level walls by itself within a few seconds.
The P.E.K.K.As high health total makes it virtually impervious to
area of effect towers like the Wizard Tower and Mortar, but it does take
double-damage from Hidden Tesla towers.
CoC P.E.K.K.A Strategy
Given that the P.E.K.K.A is the only ground unit with massive health
and solid damage (the Golem has more health but far less damage), it
becomes a useful unit as soon as it is available. With that said,
P.E.K.K.As are rarely seen as they require level 10 Barracks to produce
(upgrading from level 9 to 10 takes 6 days – a long time to be down a
Barracks).
P.E.K.K.As also cost a significant amount of Elixir to upgrade –
going from level 1 to level 2 is one of the second-most expensive
research upgrades available at Town Hall 8, and going from level 2 to 3
is the most expensive upgrade available at Town Hall 8!
If the prerequisites for training high level P.E.K.K.As were not bad
enough, these units have the longest training time (45 minutes) and
highest base elixir cost (though to be fair there are other more
expensive units on a per supply basis like the Wall Breaker and longer
training time units on a per supply basis like the Wizard).
P.E.K.K.As in Farming
P.E.K.K.As are only used in farming when TH8+ (particularly TH9)
players no longer have a use for Elixir and still need a lot of Dark
Elixir before their heroes and research are maxed.
The P.E.K.K.A works well for Dark Elixir farming for two reasons.
Firstly, TH8 and TH9 players (primary targets for DE farming) do not
have Inferno Towers and rarely have highly upgraded Tesla Towers (the
primary weaknesses of the P.E.K.K.A).
Secondly, most players who have a lot of Dark Elixir have wisely
placed their Clan Castle at the center of their base, along with their
Dark Elixir storage. This latter aspect works to the P.E.K.K.A’s
advantage, as P.E.K.K.As (like all ground units) will preferentially
target Clan Castle units. In order to get to the Clan Castle
units, P.E.K.K.As will have to take down the wall (a task which the
P.E.K.K.A excels at completing). The idea is to get your P.E.K.K.As to
take down as many walls as possible before the Clan Castle units
advance. This is done most readily through a Rage Spell.
Pair your P.E.K.K.As with Giants along with a battalion of Wizards
(or Archers), Wall Breakers, and perhaps a handful of Goblins or
Healers. Make sure you use the Archers or Wizards to take down perimeter
buildings (Minions can also be used for this purpose) so that
the P.E.K.K.As do not go wandering (the P.E.K.K.A attacks its closest
target).
P.E.K.K.As in War Battles
For a tough War Battle, P.E.K.K.As make for an excellent distraction
and can be dropped around the outside of an enemy’s base to take down
perimeter buildings. A few P.E.K.K.As can offer significant distraction
for Hog Riders if you really need 3 stars but do not want to burn
through all of your DE reserves to win less than you spend in a war.
Alternatively, a traditional ground-based army that involves a
few P.E.K.K.As, Wizards (or Archers), Healers, and Wall Breakers can be
an extremely effective war composition as well.
P.E.K.K.As for High Level Trophy Farming
P.E.K.K.As are occasionally used for very high-level trophy farming,
given that they are great at taking out perimeter buildings for players
seeking a 50% 1-star clear. However, this usage is not extremely common,
as it is an easier playstyle to use the Dragons & Lightning Spell
approach to hit the 1-star clear.
P.E.K.K.As and the Inferno Tower
Like any powerful unit, P.E.K.K.As need to be careful around the
Inferno Tower if the tower is set to single-target, as an Inferno Tower
in this mode will destroy the P.E.K.K.A in 6 seconds or so. You can
check to see if the Inferno Tower is in single target mode by looking at
the orb on top of the tower. If it is one big red ball, it is set to
single target. If there are several small balls, it is set to
multi-target. You may need to zoom in to see this distinction.
P.E.K.K.As and Spells
The P.E.K.K.A was meant for one spell and one spell only – the Rage
Spell. The increase in movement speed helps ensure the P.E.K.K.A moves
quickly from target to target, while the damage increase allows the
P.E.K.K.A to 1-shot most buildings, while destroying most walls or
tougher structures in a few hits. There is no need for a Float spell
with the P.E.K.K.A, as a P.E.K.K.A under the effect of a Rage Spell will
tear through a wall just as quickly as it would float over it.
The single Freeze spell may be useful at higher levels, as it can be
used to freeze a single target Inferno Tower while your units work on
taking it out.
P.E.K.K.As as a Clan Castle Unit
P.E.K.K.As are not considered to be great Clan Castle units. While
certainly a powerful unit, their main problem is that they have slow
movement speed and a very slow attack speed. Their DPS is wasted when
you consider that most players use low-health units like Archers to take
out Clan Castle units. The P.E.K.K.A can only take out 1 Archer every
few seconds given its 2.5 second attack speed along with its slow
movement speed. A contingent of much cheaper Archers will be able to
take out the P.E.K.K.A with no problem. In fact, 20 supplies of Archers
would have no trouble handling the 25-supply P.E.K.K.A. An attack that
deals 850 damage a swing is not all that useful against targets with 40
health.
The P.E.K.K.A is useful for offensive purposes in the Clan Castle. If
you have an alt account that is feeding Clan Castle troops for
offensive purposes (a strategy only reserved for hardcore players), you
can certainly save time by having a P.E.K.K.A sent over in between each
battle.
